Finding Your Fairway: A Guide to Golf Course Homes in North Phoenix’s Serene Desert Ridge

Want to live on a golf course? Envision yourself looking in your backyard staring at barren dried up desert…or endless views of lush green grass and no blocky homes behind you. Which feels better?

Golf Course Home In Desert Ridge

If the answer was the latter, you are probably looking for serenity now. One of the most sought after areas in all of Phoenix, is Desert Ridge. Desert Ridge is located in North Phoenix, about 25 minutes from Downtown Phoenix and Sky Harbor Airport. It is also home to the JW Marriott at Desert Ridge, a super desirable luxury resort/spa. And it has a really cool lazy river. Check it out if you can.

Location. Location. Location.

Desert Ridge is located in North Phoenix and home to Desert Ridge Marketplace, one of our most popular malls. Its location is primo as it is close to freeways, has the shopping as just mentioned, is close enough to everything, while not feeling like you are Downtown or surrounded by millions of people, it is close to hiking, trails, and is a relatively newer community that will give you newness vibes. And it has its own high school too

What Is Desert Ridge Real Estate Like?

Phoenix is notorious for having a wide range of prices and styles of everything; Desert Ridge included.

The majority of real estate starts with condos in the mid 300s is a very desirable condo complex called Toscana. Here is a groundfloor highly upgraded unit in the mid 400s in Toscana.

Single family homes start in the low 500s. Fireside is home to some of these homes and you can view those too. The bulk of Desert Ridge homes are in the 700K+ range and go up to the high 1s (this home included)…on a golf course, bigger, in a gated community

Pros And Cons Of Living On A Golf Course

A common con of living on a golf course is the concern about getting hit by golf balls. If you are taking a dip to relax in your private pool, do you wanna get pegged by a Titleist 4? Or are you concerned about your home’s stucco suffering damage from the golf course weekend hacks? Both are valid…and it really just depends where the home is located. If you are on a tee box, getting pegged is unlikely. If you live on the left side of the fairway, you might be safer. Why? More people slice, right?

In many cases, the pros outweigh the cons and being able to see, and see, and see more green and not stare at someone’s ugly back wall outweigh whatever negatives might occur.

In the case of this home in Desert Ridge in North Phoenix, there is enough of a space between the hole and the property fence that I think there would be close to 0 golf ball issues. In other cases, you can always install a golf net too…if your budget allows.

One Of My Favorite Areas

I love Desert Ridge. I think it has so much to offer, as I have discussed in this blog. If you are looking to move to Phoenix, I encourage you to check it out. If you live in Phoenix, visit the amenities it has to offer. And I haven’t even mentioned being close to High Street….

In case you don’t love Desert Ridge like I do, Norterra offers similar(ish) amenities sort of. Look at that too.
