Local Hiker Takes On Six Summits in One Day to “Prove Tim Wrong” — and Raise Money for HARTT Animal Rescue

Phoenix, AZ — What started as a playful debate between two hiking buddies has transformed into a full-scale community challenge for a cause. Local hiker Alicia Fremling is taking on an ambitious goal: summiting Piestewa Peak six consecutive times in a single day—a total of 12 miles and 6,807 feet of elevation gain.

Her friend Tim Hargis doesn’t think she can do it. Alicia, however, is determined to prove otherwise. And whether she succeeds or not, the real winners will be local animals in need.

“I want to show that we can do hard things, have fun, and bring people together,” Alicia said. “And if we can support HARTT Animal Rescue while we’re at it, even better. Whether folks come to hike a lap or chip in a few dollars, every bit helps.”

Community members are invited to support in two ways:

1. Donate to support the challenge

Alicia is encouraging a $5 donation per completed summit (up to $30 if she conquers all six) to HARTT Animal Rescue, a local organization dedicated to helping lost, injured, and abandoned animals.

Donation Instructions:

To keep it extra fun, Alicia promises this: “If I don’t make all six laps, I’ll personally refund donors the difference for the laps I miss.”

2. Hike a lap with Alicia

Participants are welcome to join for any single summit.

The Friendly Wager

If Alicia completes all six summits, Tim must pay for her indoor skydiving experience.

If she falls short, Alicia owes Tim a steak dinner.

Either way, the community and the animals win.
