Inclusive Workout Spaces in North Phoenix: Where Fitness Meets Pride

By CM : Local Lens Contributor

In celebration of Pride Month, and as a proud ally to the LGBTQIA+ community, I explored some of the best, most inclusive group workout spaces in North Phoenix. From yoga, pilates, or barre to a HIIT workout that gets your heart going, these studios provide something for everyone all while being safe and empowering for anyone who wants to build a community and get active!

Staying active – whether it is hitting the gym, a yoga flow, or even just a brisk walk – is one of the best ways to improve physical and mental health. Recently, group workout classes have been all the rave among many (myself included) because of the community, motivation, and accountability they bring to the table.

Beyond these benefits, what makes a space truly stand out is how inclusive they feel. Everyone deserves to feel welcomed regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or physical ability.

Inclusive Workout Spaces in North Phoenix: Top Studios To Celebrate Pride

Black Swan Yoga-Inclusive Yoga Studio in North Phoenix

Two Locations: Midtown, Phoenix & Cactus Rd and Tatum Blvd, Phoenix

This donation-based studio (Black Swan) fosters a calm, accessible environment perfect for all levels. Whether you’re a total newbie or a seasoned yogi, their range of classes — from power flow to yin and meditation — lets you go at your own pace.

The smaller class sizes make it easy for instructors to offer customization, personal guidance, and form correction. Bonus points for their pay-what-you-can approach, making wellness financially accessible for all.

Remedy Pilates and Barre-LGBTQ+ Friendly Pilates & Barre

Three Locations: Central Phoenix, Scottsdale & Shea Blvd, Arcadia

Remedy offers a mix of mat Pilates, barre, and Pilates with weights — including classic reformer workouts. While the classes are unheated (a blessing in these Arizona summers), you’ll still work up a serious sweat.

It’s an especially great studio for anyone easing into the boutique fitness scene or looking to shake up their gym routine. Their instructors and members create a no-judgment space where every body type is embraced.

Hot Yoga University-Inclusive Yoga & HIIT Studio in Scottsdale

South Scottsdale

If you’re seeking a more intense yoga experience, Hot Yoga University is a must. Their Hot Yasa class (a blend of stretching, flow, and meditation) is incredibly grounding. Expect to sweat a lot and leave feeling both physically worked and mentally refreshed.

They also offer a HIIT style class, yoga sculpt, and sound healing and meditation classes, making this studio a gem for those looking to build a deeper mind-body connection in a welcoming, inclusive group fitness environment
