URBAN SEARCH AND RESCUE ROBOTICS
Mr. Randolph and our robotics engineering students attended the first annual Urban Search and Rescue Robotics Competition this past week at Peoria High School.
The students must design and build a detailed robot that can perform specific tasks within a short period of time. #TheRidgeWay

Military and First Responders Appreciation Night across DVUSD Varsity Football games this week. This is Deer Valley vs Greenway.Game ball delivered via skydivers. No less than 3 turnovers in favor of Deer Valley tonight in their 31-12 win over Greenway. Skyhawks are now 3-0 on the season.

EZ MEAL APP
If your child received free & reduced meals last school year and you have not yet renewed your application for the 2025-26 school year, your application will expire Friday, September 12, 2025.
To avoid any lapse in meal and other benefits, such as reduced academic and athletic fees as well as possible SUNBucks benefits, please submit a meal application online at EZMEALAPP.com by September 11.

Join us Friday, September 26, 2025 at the Deer Valley Unified School District Office (20402 N. 15th Ave, Phoenix, 85027) from 9-10:30 a.m. for the first Business & Community partner meeting of the 2025-26 School Year! Coffee, networking and a light breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m.
This is a great opportunity to learn how you can positively impact the DVUSD community for the coming school, network with fellow business leaders in the DVUSD area, meet and connect with representatives from our 41 schools, and grow your network!
The dynamic duo of Arizona Education Foundation’s Teacher of the Year, DVUSD’s own Emmett Burnton, and Ryan Donavan, a top five finalist and AEF Ambassador of Excellence, will present to the group for this meeting!

Our latest DVUSD update comes from Deer Valley Votes 4 Kids, the Political Action Committee (PAC). They are not affiliated directly with DVUSD.
I’ve included a fact sheet that outlines the impact of the override and why it’s so critical to pass it this November.
Also, included is a copy of the palm card they’re sharing with the community to help clarify what’s at stake and combat the misinformation circulating online, and the school district’s fact card.

Glendale, AZ Police Department tips
In partnership with the Glendale Police Department – Arizona and City of Glendale, Arizona – Government Freshman at Mountain Ridge High School heard important tips on pedestrian and bike safety from Glendale Police officers and the city’s traffic education program that will help keep them safe while getting to and from school as well as when they go around the city!
