Best Golf Courses in Phoenix for Families
FORE! Looking for a Golf Course in Phoenix Where the Whole Family can Play?
Phoenix is home to world-class golf, but not every course is designed with kids and beginners in mind. If you’re planning a family golf day, you need wide fairways, flexible tee times, junior programs, and relaxed environments that welcome new players.
Here are the best family-friendly golf courses in Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Glendale.
Encanto 9-Hole Golf Course (Phoenix)
Encanto 9-Hole Golf Course is one of the most approachable layouts in central Phoenix. Its short design and wide fairways make it ideal for beginners, kids, and parents who want a relaxed round without committing to 18 holes.
Why families like it:
- 9-hole layout (less time, more fun)
- Affordable green fees
- Easy walking course
- Great introduction to golf fundamentals
- Downtown Phoenix skyline views
If your child is picking up a club for the first time, Encanto is one of the safest starting points in the Valley.
Topgolf (Scottsdale & Glendale)
Topgolf turns golf into a high-energy family activity. With climate-controlled hitting bays, interactive scoring games, and food service at your table, it removes the pressure of traditional golf.
What makes it family-friendly:
- Kid-focused game modes
- Year-round indoor comfort
- Food and drinks on site
- No dress code stress
- Short attention-span friendly format
If you’re near Glendale, stop by the Topgolf location there for a casual, entertainment-focused golf experience.

Papago Golf Club (Phoenix)
Located near the Phoenix Zoo and Desert Botanical Garden, Papago Golf Club blends desert scenery with playability. It offers a traditional 18-hole experience while still being accessible for families.
Why it works for all ages:
- Practice facilities for beginners
- Junior golf programs
- Manageable course layout
- Scenic red rock views
If you want a real course experience without overwhelming younger players, Papago is a solid option.
McCormick Ranch Golf Club (Scottsdale)
McCormick Ranch offers two 18-hole courses — Palm and Pine — with generous fairways and water features that make it visually stunning and playable for mixed skill levels.
It’s also one of my favorite layouts in the Valley.
Family perks include:
- Junior programs
- Family golf days
- Flexible tee times
- Wide landing areas for newer golfers
If you’re looking for a course that balances challenge with playability, this one delivers.
Kierland Golf Club (Scottsdale)
Kierland Golf Club is built with families in mind. With three 9-hole courses, you can customize your round depending on time and experience level.
Why families choose Kierland:
- Family Fun Days
- Modified tee options
- Discounted junior rates
- GPS-equipped carts
- Relaxed pace environment
It’s one of the best choices if you want structure, flexibility, and a welcoming atmosphere.
